OperationWalk (OPW– operationwalk.org) là một tổ chức từ thiện, tự nguyện sáng lập năm 1995 tại Los Angeles, bang California – Hoa Kỳ do Giáo sư – Tiến sĩ Y Khoa Lawrence D Dorr, một trong những bác sĩ nổi tiếng tại Hoa Kỳ về phẫu thuật chỉnh hình và ráp nối khớp xương, với mục đích giúp đỡ ngành y học của các nước đang phát triển áp dụng các kỹ thuật tiên tiến về xương khớp, chỉnh hình. OPW đã thực hiện 2.500 cuộc phẫu thuật các bệnh nhân nghèo bị dị tật về xương, chuyển giao kỹ thuật tân tiến của ngành này cho hàng ngàn bác sỹ của nhiều nước trên thế giới như Việt Nam, Nepal, Trung Quốc, Philippines, Peru, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba, ElSalvador…
OPW đã tổ chức họp báo tại tp Hồ Chí Minh ngày 13/01/2010 bác sỹ Mỹ trưởng đoàn OPW DR. Jeri Ward chủ trì cuộc họp báo.

Tháng 03/2008, đoàn Opreration Walk đã đến Việt Nam và tiến hành 60 ca phẫu thuật chỉnh hình xương miễn phí cùng với bệnh viện Chấn Thương Chỉnh Hình Tp.HCM. Lần thứ 2 đến Việt Nam vào tháng 01/2010, đoàn Opreration Walk gồm 60 bác sỹ từ 8 quốc gia khắp trên toàn thế giới để thực hiện 60 ca mỗ miễn phí, trung bình 1 ca mổ trị giá 150.000USD, thay khớp háng, khớp đầu gối cho các bệnh nhân nghèo bị dị tật về xương tại Bệnh viện Chấn thương chỉnh hình TP.HCM. những ca mổ này sẽ giúp cho những mảnh đời bất hạnh thoát khỏi các cơn đau vật vã, dai dẳng. Tổng chi phí chương trình nhân đạo cho 2 năm 2008 và 2010 của đoàn OPW dành tặng nhân dân Việt Nam lên tới 35 triệu đô la Mỹ.

Chương trình làm việc của đoàn OPW 2010 tại Tp Hồ Chí Minh từ 15/01 đến 18/01/2010: Mổ từ thiện tại Bệnh viện Chấn thương chỉnh hình Tp.HCM. Có trực tiếp truyền hình cho đội ngũ chuyên gia, các giáo sư bác sỹ, tiến sỹ, các bộ phận trước và sau hậu phẫu theo dõi, nhằm học tập kinh nghiệm, trao đổi nghiệp vụ, kỹ thuật, phẫu thuật. Có đánh giá của bệnh viện Chấn thương chỉnh hình Tp.HCM. ngày 19/01/2010, Đoàn sẽ tổ chức lớp tập huấn phẫu thuật Opreration Walk với chuyên đề: “Phẫu thuật chỉnh hình thay khớp”, tại Hội trường B, khu A1, Trường Đại học Y Khoa Phạm Ngọc Thạch, số 86/2 Thành Thái, Quận 10, Tp.HCM, do những bác sỹ hàng đầu thế giới trong ngành chỉnh hình khớp trình bày. Đây là cơ hội để các bác sỹ Việt Nam giao lưu trao đổi và học tập kinh nghiệm từ các bác sỹ trong ngành chấn thương chỉnh hình hàng đầu thế giới.
